Hello Readers!
Well, I'm asleep on the job. It's not as if I haven't been keeping the website/newsletter/ezine up to date, but finding the time to sit down to gather my thoughts and write an editorial is the time I find to fall asleep. Such is the case with volunteering.
I am amazed that Flo still has the energy or the time to continue to work on the newsletter. And answer questions. And run interference. She has retired, hasn't she? She continues to contribute with her stories and remembrances which help to fill these pages. She is like the Energizer Bunny...keeps going and going...and going...
<Hint><Hint> We can use input. Stories. Artwork. Photos. I remember a time when tattooers were eager to be mentioned and acknowledged; a time when tattooers wanted to belong to some group who accepted us for the artists and pirates we are. I suppose we rely on Facebook and other social media to stay connected and to share our experiences. And no, this is not a printed edition of your newsletter. The dues don't cover the cost of printing! I remember when a tattoo newsletter was a xerographed copy in grainy black and white and you were lucky to make out what the picture was. If you need to archive this site, right-click and choose save as webpage or PDF.
Have you noticed? I didn't mention Covid-19? Until now, that is. There have been problems getting back to work as we tattooers are declared nonessential. Then, there are some of us who choose not to return, yet. Like me. In this downtime, I've focused on making art for myself instead of others. What have you done during your downtime? I'd love to learn. In the past, I suggested you contact me through this website, only to find out that I don't have a personalized email address at ntacruisers.com. So, please note to reach me at PatSinatra@gmail.com or contact me on Facebook Messenger.
Well, I'm getting sleepier...no, it's mid-afternoon and I'm not burning the midnight oil. But the days are starting to get shorter and the weather here in upstate New York is getting cooler and crisper. Halloween will be here and gone before you know it. So, I encourage you to send in seasonal artwork, etc. Hopefully we will survive the autumn and return to a new normal. Until our next issue, November/December and Flo pulls out the boxes of Santas, have a spooky good Autumn.
